Merry Christmas, Then and Now

Twelve months ago I was just recovering from 6 broken ribs and 4 fractured vertebrae. That wasn’t really the problem though. The problem I was living with day in and day out was that I had allowed myself to get up to 314 pounds.  I was not happy with what I’d done to myself.

Six months ago, I made a move in my life that has cascaded into a life transformation. I joined Farrell’s eXtreme Bodyshaping and started working out 6 days a week while eating a balanced and nutritious diet. In that six months, I’ve attended 144 fitness classes. I’ve lost 52 pounds of fat and gained muscle. I’m strong and more importantly I’m happy. I’m living my life with purpose for the first time in a very long time…and I like it.

None of that is to say it has been easy. This last week, for instance, I’m going to call “The Break of 2015”. My nutrition has been horrible, but I’m aware of it and it won’t last. I’m sure New Year’s Eve will be another tough time to maintain great nutrition. That’s OK, I’ll keep working on myself and keep my purpose in mind. I still have a long way to go, but clearly I have the tools I need to complete this journey and reach my goals.

Another great thing that has happened in my life in the last couple of weeks is that I’ve been asked to become the Lead Coach at Farrell’s in New Hope. I’m so excited to take on this new role! I get to share my love and excitement for the changes Farrell’s has helped me make with so many more people. Hopefully I’ll be able to build a team of awesome coaches and we’ll be motivating a whole new group come January 9th.

So to all my friends and family, I’d like to wish you a Merry Christmas. I love you all.
